Barnes & Noble venderá leitor digital Nook no Reino Unido(Barnes & Noble will sell Nook digital reader in the UK)

A Barnes & Noble disse nesta segunda-feira que levará seu leitor digital Nook para o Reino Unido nos próximos meses, a sua primeira expansão internacional.

A companhia começará a vender seu Nook Simple Touch através de alguns varejistas britânicos em outubro. A companhia disse que indicará o nome das redes que venderão os produtos em breve.

Também será lançada uma loja online exclusiva para o Nook no país.

O Nook tem sido um produto popular nos EUA, ajudando a Barnes & Noble a mitigar a queda nas livrarias físicas.

A varejista disse ter conquistado 27% do mercado de leitores eletrônicos nos Estados Unidos, mas também tem cortado os preços do Nook na tentativa de concorrer com o leitor digital Kindle e o tablet Kindle Fire, ambos da Amazon.

Barnes & Noble said Monday it will take its Nook digital reader for the UK in the coming months, its first international expansion.
The company will begin selling its Nook Simple Touch by some British retailers in October. The company said it will indicate the name of the networks that sell the products soon.
It also launched an online store will be exclusive to the Nook in the country.
The Nook has been a popular product in the U.S., helping to Barnes & Noble to mitigate the decline in physical bookstores.
The retailer said it had won 27% of the market for electronic readers in the United States but also has Nook cut prices in an attempt to compete with the Kindle digital reader tablet and Kindle Fire, both from Amazon.
