Assim como os sistemas têm sido aperfeiçoados para poder interagir com os seres humanos, os robôs também vêm ganhando novas funções ao longo dos anos. Os avanços da robótica têm como maior mérito o desenvolvimento de novas inteligências artificiais, recursos que permitem às máquinas se comportar de forma mais independente ou mais adequada às necessidades dos seus criadores. Para a próxima década, a expectativa é que o aumento no número de máquinas inteligentes possa baratear o custo e, com isso, mais pessoas tenham acesso a robôs auxiliares. Com maior público consumidor, aumentará também a oferta de autómatos e, consequentemente, maior será o número de funções que eles poderão exercer.

With greater consumer public, will also increase the supply of automata and, consequently, the greater the number of functions they may exercise.
