De acordo com vários sites na língua inglesa, o novo iOS 6, próximo sistema operacional da Apple, deverá sair também na WWDC, juntamente com o iPhone 5 e outras novidades da Maçã. Novamente, pouco se sabe sobre a novidade, mas as expectativas são de que ele entre no mercado com o iPhone 5 e também com o iPad 3 em Junho. Uma das únicas novidades concisas que podemos dizer sobre o iOS 6 diz respeito a uma patente adquirida pela Apple em Novembro de 2011, chamada “Persistent Overlay”, uma interface que traz uma nova forma de manusear dados, sejam eles músicas, áudio, fotos, páginas da Web e assim por diante. Acredita-se que o tal “Persistent Overlay” seja usado no iOS 6. Como exemplo usado pela Apple para detalhar a patente, um ícone associado com um item de música (como um arquivo MP3) poderia continuar visível na tela após trocarmos de uma página a outra.
