tecnológicos do ano 2019.
Dexterity in robots
For Bill Gates, the fact that robotic hands can learn to manipulate
objects, be able to grasp them and move things with ever greater precision,
will be one of the major technological advances of the year 2019.
There are already fantastic projects in this area. One of these projects is
Dactyl. This is a robot that taught itself to turn a toy building block between
your fingers. Dactyl, which comes from the non-profit OpenAI in San Francisco,
consists of a robotic hand ready for use and which brings a series of lights
and cameras.
Thus, this technique became known as reinforcement learning. The neural
network software learns how to understand and transform the block within a
simulated environment before the hand actually experiences it. Software
testing, randomly at first, strengthens connections within the network over
time as it approaches its goal. As a result, the robot learns and improves its
performance.
