O Acer Iconia W3 é o primeiro tablet (pelo menos de um grande fabricante) a encolher de vez a experiência do Windows 8. Se até o momento os tablet com o sistema operacional da Microsoft tinham telas acima de 10 polegadas, o Iconia W3 vai para 8,1 polegadas.

O produto foi anunciado nesta segunda-feira em Taipei, em Taiwan, na prévia da Computex 2013. E é Windows 8 completo, não Windows RT.

O tabletinho vem com uma tela HD de 8,1 polegadas (1280 x 800), câmeras de 2 megapixels (frontal e traseira), conexão Wi-Fi (b/g/n) e é movido a um processador Intel Atom Z2760 de 1,8 GHz. Um teclado Bluetooth opcional transforma o bicho em um notebook - mas o teclado é maior que o próprio tablet, do tamanho de um utilizado em notebooks de 13 polegadas.

O Asus Fonepad de 7 polegadas ganhou um "irmãozinho" na Computex 2013, o maior evento de tecnologia da Ásia: o Fonepad Note FHD 6". A versão compacta tem tela de 6 polegadas e que mais lembra um foblet (smartphone + tablet) do que um tablet propriamente dito.
