De cada 10 smartphones vendidos no mundo no primeiro semestre de 2012, quase sete rodam a plataforma Android.
A estimativa é de uma pesquisa da consultoria IDC, que indica participação de 68,1% de mercado para o sistema operacional móvel do Google, contra 16,9% do segundo maior colocado, a Apple.
Apesar da diferença entre os concorrentes, o analista da IDC Kevin Restivo ressalta que os iPhones ainda têm uma parcela relevante entre os celulares de última geração.
"O mercado móvel é, inquestionavelmente, uma corrida de dois cavalos dominada pela Apple e pelo Google", explica Restivo.
As plataformas BlackBerry, da RIM, e Symbian, da Nokia, aparecem respectivamente com 4,8% e 4,4% de participação. Em vendas, essas mesmas marcas tiveram uma variação negativa, de 40,9%, para a RIM, e 62,9%, para a Nokia, na comparação com o mesmo semestre do ano passado.
Enquanto isso, na parte de cima do ranking da IDC, a Apple vendeu 27,5% mais iPhones e o Google, 106,5% mais modelos com Android.
