You did not misread. Robotics is increasingly advanced - at least in Japan The turn is a robot created in laboratories of the land of the rising sun capable of picking strawberries in mature gardens.
According to the engineers who developed the robot (unnamed), the unit can identify the best strawberries because it has two special cameras that recognize the fruit in a 3D space of reading, so that those with at least 80% of pigmentation red are those that are ready for harvest.
The robot still performs the harvest so delicate and agile, without damaging the fruit. According to tests carried out, using the new equipment to guarantee the economy of 3/4 time, greatly increasing the number of harvested strawberries.
That human labor is threatened with destruction in many areas of agriculture that everyone already knows. But is that the robot can actually replace the work of a strawberry grower with decades of experience?
