A empresa japonesa Fasotec and Hiroo Ladies Clinic lançou um produto chamado "Shape of an Angel", que nada mais é do que a impressão 3D realista de um feto quando ainda no útero da mãe. De acordo com o site The Verge, a companhia cobra cerca de US$ 1.275 por cada exemplar.
O processo usado na confecção do objeto é conhecido como Bio-Texture, que capta imagens do corpo humano através de tomografia computadorizada para reproduzir artificialmente órgãos, tecidos e texturas. O método também é utilizado pela Fasotec para criar modelos realistas para fins médicos.
No caso do "Shape of an Angel", o objetivo é apenas eternizar uma lembrança pré-nascimento, que pode ser usada como item decorativo. Depois de ter sua imagem digital captada durante a gravidez, o feto é impresso em 3D, envolvido em resina transparente e depositado em uma caixa de presente.
Por um valor extra, os clientes também podem encomendar chaveiros e pingentes para celular com a imagem tridimensional do bebê que ainda não nasceu.
