Assim, basta fazer com que uma TV reconheça a palma de sua mão, por exemplo, para que você troque de canal, aumente o volume ou desligue o aparelho com gestos bem simples, como se você estivesse controlando um mouse.
Os desenvolvedores já estavam trabalhando em jogos simples que utilizam essa tecnologia, no mesmo estilo do Kinect, porém com câmeras que capturam apenas em 2D. Com isso, é possível reproduzir o mesmo efeito de captura e reprodução de ações do corpo com uma webcam ou uma máquina fotográfica digital, por exemplo.
A XTR3D recebeu um investimento de cerca de US$ 8 mil (quase R$ 15 mil) de algumas gigantes multinacionais (como a Texas Instruments) para trabalhar na área de televisores e celulares.
