Com estes números avassaladores, Black Ops recebe a distinção de produto de entretenimento com maior lançamento da história. Superando assim o lançamento do anterior titulo Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, que tinha vendido 4.7 milhões de copias e arrecadando 310 milhões de euros, nas primeiras 24 horas.
