A Acer anunciou os Aspire M5 que pertencem a uma família de Ultrabooks que, segundo a marca, tem elevado desempenho, boa conectividade e autonomia sem precedentes.
Os Acer Aspire M5 têm um look minimalista com tampa em prateado, moldura do ecrã fina e chassis com espessura de 20 mm. Está disponível em versões com ecrã de 14” e 15”, ambas com drive óptica e teclado chiclete retroiluminado, mas só a versão de 15” é que inclui o teclado numérico do lado direito.
O Aspire M5 está equipado com processadores Intel Core de 3ª geração para oferecer elevado desempenho com menor consumo energético e placas gráficas NVIDIA GeForce GT640M com 1GB DDR5 compatíveis com PhysX, que aumenta o detalhe dos jogos, e Microsoft DirectX 11, para um detalhe geométrico análogo aos filmes, curvas definidas e animações realistas. Existe um disco rígido que oferece um espaço generoso para ficheiros pesados, enquanto um SSD (Solid State Drive) integrado permite uma retoma de sistema instantânea, aumenta a autonomia e torna o sistema mais silencioso. Está também disponível uma configuração só com SSD.O Acer Green Instant-On oferece uma retoma de sistema em 1,5 segundos a partir do modo suspensão, enquanto o Acer Instant Connect procura e regista automaticamente os pontos de acesso mais visitados, permitindo que os utilizadores se liguem à Internet em apenas 2,5 segundos, 4x mais rápido que os métodos convencionais.O Acer Aspire M5 oferece ainda uma autonomia de até 8 horas para um dia inteiro de funcionamento com uma só carga.
