O telefone da Spare One é óptimo para aquelas situações de emergência. Ele funciona com apenas uma pilha AA que, com o telemóvel desligado, pode durar até 15 anos. O Spare One  faz apenas chamadas e, mesmo sem o cartão SIM, ainda pode fazer ligações de emergência.

Quem quiser usá-lo para fazer chamadas normais só precisa colocar o chip. Uma pilha de lítio pode render até dez horas em ligações. O telemóvel tem ainda outra função, que lembra alguns aparelhos antigos: funciona como lanterna.

O melhor do telefone está em seu design. Para um gadget que possivelmente vai passar muito tempo guardado, ele é bem bonito. Todo em preto e vermelho, com botões grandes e claros. Bem no meio da tela há um alto relevo do tamanho da pilha que ele usa. O visual fica no mínimo curioso, e chama a atenção. Resta saber se esse relevo não incomoda o uso do aparelho durante as chamadas.

O Spare One estará disponível no mercado americano a partir de Março e tem um preço sugerido de 50 dólares.

The Spare One will be available in the U.S. market since March and has a suggested retail price of $ 50.
