· Olhos irritados ou vermelhos;
· Comichão e coceira nos olhos;
· Olhos secos ou lacrimejados;
· Cansaço ocular;
· Sensibilidade à luz;
· Dificuldade em focar algo;
· Visualização de cores alteradas;
· Visualização de halos em redor de objectos;
· Visão turva ou dupla.
Outros sintomas e/ou resultantes dos anteriores:
· Dor de cabeça;
· Dor na nuca;
· Dor nas costas;
· Espasmos musculares.
· Posicionar o monitor de 50 a 60 cm dos olhos, sendo que a parte superior fica à altura ou abaixo dos olhos, nunca acima da linha ocular;
· Posicionar bem os suportes para papéis junto ao monitor, quando estiver a escrever;
· Ilumine bem a sala onde o computador se encontra, a luz incandescente é melhor opção que a fluorescente;
· Minimize os reflexos do ecrã, alterando a posição do computador, das luzes, usando cortinas e ainda meios anti-reflexo se assim for necessário;
· Piscar os olhos com alguma frequência;
· Manter o ecrã do monitor sempre limpo;
· Por cada hora de trabalho, descanse 5 minutos, olhando para algo distante;
· Use óculos que sejam os correctos;

What is it?
The Computer Vision Syndrome, or CVS, is characterized by its onset with ocular symptoms during or after prolonged use of the computer.
The syndrome is constituted by the following symptoms:
• Bloodshot eyes or red;
• Itching and itchy eyes;
• Dry eyes or Beady;
• Tiredness eye;
• Sensitivity to light;
• Inability to focus on something;
• View color changed;
• View halos around objects;
• Blurred vision or double.
Other symptoms and / or resulting from previous:
• Headache;
• Pain in the neck;
• Back pain;
• Muscle spasms.
Why there?
Is because our vision is not designed to withstand exposure to computer screens for several hours. Once the images shown are formed by 'pixels' and physiognomy of our eye can not stay focused, often need to focus and re-focus, continuously. This behavior leads to a stress of the eye muscles which in turn triggers the above-mentioned symptoms. Thus, anyone who spends more than two hours a day in front of computer, you can develop this syndrome.
How to prevent?
It is known as Rule 20-20 and is very simple. From 20 to 20 minutes, look away from your computer screen for 20 seconds, and look at something far away. This helps to rest your eyes.
Tips to prevent eye problems at the computer:
• positioning the monitor 50-60 cm from the eye, and the upper part is equal to or below the eyes, not above the eyes;
• Position and brackets for roles with the monitor when you are writing;
• a well lit room where the computer is on, the light bulb is the best option fluorescent;
• Minimize the consequences of the screen, changing the position of the computer, lights, curtains and even media using anti-reflection if so required;
• Blink your eyes with some frequency;
• Keep your monitor screen clean;
• For each hour of work, rest 5 minutes, looking at something far away;
• Use sunglasses that are the correct ones;
• Where necessary, refer to ophthalmologist.
The vision is the most important senses we possess, and must ensure their well-being. As important as are the tasks that have to carry on our computer, we must not forget that our health comes first.
