A carteira digital, chamada de Trapezi, estará conectada na Internet e também em rede, com outras carteiras da classe, por exemplo. Outra vantagem deste projecto é a utilização do sistema de Avatares, para síntese de fala, onde o aluno tem um personagem a ler para ele textos e livros que estejam disponíveis no sistema.
A diferença entre a carteira e sistemas convencionais, como laptops e computadores de mesa, está na interface. No projecto Trapezi, ao invés de utilizar o mouse ou canetas ópticas, todo o reconhecimento dos comandos é realizado apenas com os gestos humanos, como balançar as mãos, aproximar o rosto, ou tocar uma superfície de forma múltipla.
