Não é só nos consoles que estes jogões brilharam, muito pelo contrário, a história avançada deles teve início em computadores, que na época permitiam gráficos mais elaborados (até tridimensionais) e uma simulação das leis da física muito mais apurada. E desde este início temos como exemplo NASCAR, que retratava as corridas fulminantes nos circuitos ovais norte americanos.
